Farmers markets are a great way to support local farmers, eat healthy, and be part of the local community. Not only will you find outstanding locally-grown produce at these local markets, you’ll also find locally-produced meat, breads, dairy products, honey, jams, baked goods, crafts, art, and so much more. Urban Harvest Eastside Farmers Market / 2752 Buffalo Speedway, Houston
Urban Harvest Eastside Farmers Market is one of the oldest (and biggest) markets in Houston. Held year-round on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, this market takes place rain or shine. There are more than 70 vendors on site, including Cake & Bacon, Hive Bee Farm, Lira Rossa Artisan Cheese, Wood Duck Farm, and so many more! All farmers, ranchers, and food vendors come from within 180 miles of Houston. This market also has live music, breakfast tacos, and coffee.
East End Farmers Market / 2800 Navigation Blvd, Houston
The East End Farmers Market is in East Downtown Houston, better known as EaDo. This market on the Navigation Esplanade is open year-round on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You’ll find fruits, veggies, locally-produced farm and dairy products, bread, honey, meats, handmade crafts, prepared foods, and more.
The Houston Farmers Market / 2520 Airline Dr, Houston
This 18-acre, open-air farmers market on Airline Dr is open daily from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. You’ll find aisles of fresh fruits, veggies, spices, plants, and more. There are three restaurants on site – Underbelly Burger, Crawfish & Noodles, and Comalito. You can also pick up craft meats from RC Ranch Texas Craft Meats or fresh eggs, country sausage, bacon, jams, local honey, and more at The Egg House.
Texas Farmers Market at Mueller / 2006 Philomena St. Austin
This farmers market in ATX is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This market has won the Austin Chronicle’s Best of Austin Farmers Market for 10 years in a row. More than 120 vendors offer up fresh, local produce, artisan goods, fresh flowers, baked goods, local honey, and much more. On the second Sunday of every month, the market hosts special kids’ activities. It’s open year-round, rain or shine.
SFC Farmers Market / Downtown, Republic Square, 422 Guadalupe St / Sunset Valley, Toney Burger Center, 3200 Jones Rd
The SFC Farmers has two locations – one in historic Republic Square and one at the Toney Burger Center on Jones Rd. The open-air market in Republic Square features local farmers, small businesses, community programs and family activities. You’ll find fresh local produce, pasture-raised meat, baked goods, coffee and more from more than 75 vendors. There’s lots of green space so it’s a good place to stretch out and relax and listen to the market’s weekly live music when you’re done shopping. The market at the Toney Burger Center features more than 35 local vendors selling produce, meats, eggs, honey, baked goods, and more. Both markets are open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Barton Creek Farmers Market / 2901 S Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin
The Barton Creek Farmers Market is held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 90 percent of this market’s vendors sell what they grow or produce on their own. You’ll find locally-grown and produced cheese, breads, vegetables, fruits, meats, nuts, jellies, eggs, yogurt, jewelry, clothes, candles, soaps, and much more from the 100+ vendors on site. This market has won multiple awards and has been endorsed by renowned chef Wolfgang Puck. You’ll also enjoy live music, a café, and kids’ entertainment each week.
Pearl Farmers Market / 312 Pearl Pkwy, San Antonio
The Pearl Farmers Market is an open-air affair with more than 120 vendors over two- days, rain or shine. On Saturdays, the market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and features local farmers and ranchers slinging fresh produce and meat from South Texas. On Sundays, the market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is dedicated to local artisans selling pottery, wood crafts, culinary-themed home goods, and more. The market was named one of the top 10 markets in the nation by USA Today in 2023.
Herff Farms Farmers Market / 33 Herff Rd, Boerne
Every Saturday from January to December, the Herff Farms Farmers Market features fresh produce, baked goods, eggs, meat, wines, nuts, sweets, art, and more. The market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The farm’s gardens and trails are also open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Dallas Farmers Market / 1010 S Pearl Expy, Dallas
The Dallas Farmers Market is held downtown in The Shed – an open-air pavilion offering a variety of goods. You’ll find fresh, locally-grown, seasonal produce, local free-range meats, eggs, local honey, Texas wines, artisan pantry staples, and handmade arts and crafts. All products are grown or raised within Texas or 400 miles of Dallas. The market at The Shed is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also visit The Market – a 26,000 square foot food hall – in the same space that is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Featuring four anchor restaurants, The Market showcases local specialty foods as well as artisanal food vendors.
St. Michael’s Farmers Market / 8011 Douglas Avenue at Colgate Road, Dallas
St. Michael’s Farmers Market in North Dallas is open 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday from late April to early September. More than 60 vendors offer fresh, locally-grown produce, meat, nuts, pastries, honey, dairy products, crafts, and more. This market is open rain or shine. Well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome
Good Local Markets / 1450 Old Gate Ln, Dallas / 6434 E Mockingbird Lane, Dallas
Good Local Markets hosts two different markets in Dallas each week – the White Rock Farmers Market and the Lakewood Village Farmers Market.
White Rock Farmers Market is in East Dallas at the White Rock United Methodist Church. It’s open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. from March through December. You’ll find local fruits and veggies, meats, cheese, pastries, jellies, locally-made jewelry, crafts, toys, furniture, clothing, and more.
Lakewood Village Farmers Market is open from February through the end of July in the Lakewood Village Shopping Center. It’s open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors will find plenty of locally-grown produces, grass-fed beef, eggs, goat cheese, goat milk soap, and more. Pet-friendly.
Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market / 1822 Buddy Holly Ave, Lubbock
The 10-year-old Lubbock Downtown Farmers Market is held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from May through mid-October. The market features dozens of vendors selling locally-produced veggies, fruits, meat, dairy, baked goods, arts, crafts, and more. Be sure to save room for lunch at one of the food trucks that roll up to this market each week. Kid-friendly and dog-friendly.
