2M Smokehouse Pork Jowl Barbacoa
Melt in your mouth BBQ has never been easier! Once you have the pork jowl seasoned and wrapped up, just throw it in a smoker or oven and let it cook low and slow. Serve with your favorite sides, or put it in a taco!
Ingredients
- 10 pounds pork jowl
- salt
- 6 Banana Leaves
- Tortillas flour or corn
- salsa verde
Instructions
- Take the banana leaves and pass them over a flame to soften them up until they are pliable.
- Place the pork jowl on the banana leaves and heavily season with salt. Tightly wrap the pork jowl with the wilted banana leaves. Wrap the pork jowl inside the banana leaves in tin toil. Place the pork in an aluminum pan, pour 3 cups of water into the bottom of the aluminum pan.
- Place the pork jowl in a smoker or oven at 275 degrees and cook low and slow for 12 hours.
- Take the pork jowl and shred to serve! Feel free to serve taco style with tortillas and salsa verde.
