If this place doesn’t get you excited about food…I’m not sure what will! Goodtaste paid an overdue visit to the fabulous Fielding’s Wood Grill in The Woodlands. From awe-inspiring burgers to exotic milkshakes, gorgeous salads and quite the collection of craft beers on tap — Fielding’s is a goldmine for good eats!
Founder/owner Cary Attar dishes on a number of popular items, from the health-conscious to the just plain hearty…
Virtually every product here is locally sourced, all-natural and free of hormones or harmful antibiotics. It also helps that the folks at Fielding’s make everything from scratch multiple times per day in-house. Whether that means grinding meat, baking fresh burger buns or curing their own bacon — no task goes unnoticed!
The Smoke Burger you see above is a signature of theirs. That’s 44 Farm Cattle beef joined by house grilled bacon, aged Italian provolone, oven dried tomatoes, grilled onions, a Texas free range egg, lettuce AND Fielding’s original recipe Truffle Bacon Mustard — all on a pillowy soft milk bun. It’s super tasty, super messy and downright deliriously good!
There’s also this guest favorte, the Texas Blues burger — made with house grilled bacon, Point Reyes blue cheese, pickled red onions, fig jam, jalapeños, lettuce on a whole wheat bun. FYI, enjoy any of their burgers with the option of a gluten-free bun.
The Baby Kale salad is a sure bet, featuring roasted beets, crisp fried chickpeas, feta, Texas pink grapefruit, sunflower seeds in an awesome orange chipotle dressing…
In the mood for a different kind of protein? Fielding’s Texas-sized, Springer Mountain, free range, all-natural Rotisserie Chicken is enough for two and has AMAZING flavor. It’s seasoned with Herbes de Provence and cooked over Texan pecan and oak:
No entrée is complete without a taste of their Truffle Parmesan French Fries…made from Kennebec potatoes, white truffle oil, seasalt and generously covered in shaved Reggiano Parmesan cheese. Oh my…Heaven is a place called Fielding’s!
And then there’s the handmade shakes…of the regular and spiked variety using milk from Mill King Dairy. I tried this one on the spot — their Granola Shake. The ingredients? Colinas de Garzón EVOO (prestigious Olive Oil from Uruguay), house granola, and sea salt. And that’s just one of sixteen flavors to choose from!
Be sure to pop in for brunch sometime as well. No weekend morning meal is complete without a good Bloody Mary and Fielding’s has FOUR hand crafted approaches…good anytime as far as I’m concerned!
