Whether you’re dining al fresco or simply sipping on a patio, these summer wines have perfect porch appeal! Special thanks to my friends at We Are Austin on KEYE CBS Austin for all the fun — watch here!
Chardonnay is the ultimate summer wine. Its signature taste goes great with anything you’re grilling and even with light meals like salads and fish. It’s one of the most popular wines in the world and one of the classic regions for it is Burgundy. When it comes to French Chardonnays, the limestone in the soil lends to its sharper Chardonnay flavor. When it comes to Chardonnays from Napa Valley and Sonoma, expect a bit of a rounder flavor. Americans are known for making Chardonnays a bit more buttery.
My wine finds below will please both my “butter fans” and my Chardonnay fans who prefer a crisper taste. Plus, a brand new wine find for my beer fans! Of course, I found all of my wine finds at my local H-E-B.
My Wine Finds
Lamarca Prosecco
Les Charmes Mâcon-Lugny Chardonnay
Josh Cellars Sonoma County Reserve Chardonnay
Rodney Strong Chardonnay

*This wine find is brand new and may not be available at your local H-E-B right away (it is available in Houston). Ask the wine department at your local H-E-B, however! They may know of another H-E-B store that carries it.

This IS the Chalk Hills Rodney Strong Chardonnay, isn’t it? I can find the Chalk Hills at Spec’s, only.
