We’ve been a little stir-crazy waiting for spring to officially start. With grilling weather just around the corner, Ralph from the H-E-B Plus at Blanco and 1604 in San Antonio shares his four wine picks to “wine down” this winter.
Wine Finds:
Up first, is the D’orsay Rosé Cotes De Provence. You’ll find that this has floral aromas and though it is dry, you will taste notes of strawberries, apricots and fruity nectars. Because it’s crisp and has a good acidity, it will pair great with grilled meats or fried dishes. $14
This next find is from California — Spellbound Chardonnay. It’s partially aged in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, which gives it a nice vanilla finish. It’s medium-bodied with apple and tropical fruit flavors like guava and pineapple. This Chardonnay will pair great with seafood or poultry. $13
The Reata Pinot Noir is a fuller bodied Pinot with a higher alcohol content. One hundred percent Pinot Noir grapes go in to this wine, and you’ll taste black cherries, raspberries and plums. It’s a little earthy with spice on the finish. $15
Last, is the Lodi Estates Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s a very full-bodied fruit-driven Cabernet with flavors of blackberries and plums. This would pair great with a steak and even chocolate! $20
As always, you can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or H-E-B.com. Bonus: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles!
