Mother’s Day is May 12th, so it’s time to start planning one of the biggest dining out days of the year! I stop by to see my friends at KPRC in Houston and share some of the city’s best restaurants to treat Mom to a truly special meal. First, we start with Pecan Creek Grille, a bustling breakfast spot where reservations aren’t required if you want to dig into oversized omelettes and biscuits-and-gravy. Then, I share one of my top Tex-Mex picks: Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen. Choose from 18 different kinds of enchiladas or venture outside the box and try their juicy grilled quail. Last, is TRIBUTE, The Houstonian’s newest restaurant. Here, every dish has a story, including the Doña Licha’s Huevos Rancheros which was family recipe passed down by the Sous Chef’s mother-in-law. Staying in on Mother’s Day? No worries! You can also spoil Mom with one of my spring wine picks. Get all of the details in the full segment here!
Tanji’s Wine Finds:
The West + Wilder Rosé is a refreshing canned wine that’s perfect for a picnic. Made with west coast grapes, this is a dry wine with well-balanced fruit and acidity. $17
For the mom who loves red wine, opt for the Clos de los Siete Malbec. This Argentinian wine is made with grapes grown at the base of the Andes. It’s full-bodied and has a long finish. $15
Cava is great, inexpensive sparkling wine. Consider the Mistinguett Cava Rosé to celebrate Mom. It’s dry, yet vibrant and fruity, with a medium body and a smooth finish. $13
Thank you to our friends at KPRC and be sure to head to your local H-E-B to find all of these wines and more!
