Treat yourself to something sweet and sumptuous! Whether that is an over-the-top dessert or a festive glass of bubbles, I have something for you. I stopped by to see my friends at We Are Austin and told them all about the decadent pies at Baked and Boozy. Be prepared: these aren’t your grandma’s pies! Owner Lacey Pearce turns out spiked pies, including a Chocolate Cream Pie with Guinness, Bailey’s whipped cream and a drizzle of Jameson caramel and a Blackberry Lemonade Pie with Rosemary Whiskey Whipped Cream. I also share a few of my favorite sparkling wines to drink with (or without!) dessert. Watch the segment here.
My Wine Finds:
The Riondo Prosecco Spago Nero is a dry Prosecco made in Italy. It’s light bodied, crisp and very refreshing. Pair it with almost any food since it’s not a fruit forward wine. $11
Next, is the ultimate dessert sparkling wine: the Vino dei Fratelli Mochetto. This Northern Italian wine has a natural sweetness without having a sugary sweet taste. When pairing wines with dessert, choose a wine that is as sweet or sweeter than the dessert you’re pairing it with. $12
As always, thank you to our good friends at KEYE CBS Austin! You can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or buy them online at HEB.com. Bonus: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles.
