Summer is one of my favorite times to enjoy light, refreshing food like sushi. Luckily there’s no shortage of great sushi options here in San Antonio and that includes Godai, whose menu has over 80 handmade rolls to choose from. I brought this goodness to my friends at San Antonio Living and shared a few of my favorites from this local sushi spot. Plus, I have great wines to beat the Texas heat! Catch the full segment here.
Tanji’s Wine Finds:
One of my favorites is The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. It has lots of citrus and tropical fruit notes making it a refreshing palate-cleansing wine. $13
For something in a can, I have the Messina Hof Rosé. This is a fruit-forward Rosé with a hint of juicy strawberry. It’s a great hot weather wine. $16 for a 4-pack
The West + Wilder Rosé is also a refreshing canned wine that’s perfect for a picnic. Made with west coast grapes, this is a dry wine with well-balanced fruit and acidity. $17 for a 4-pack
Margarita fans will love this next pick: Rancho La Gloria Margarita Wine Cocktail. It’s a marg in a can – with wine! It’s slightly effervescent and comes in three flavors: lime, strawberry and mango. $10 for a 4-pack
If you’re from Texas you’re probably familiar with horchata, but you’ve probably never had it like this. The Texas Classic Wine Cocktails Horchata has everything you love about this creamy, refreshing drink, but with an added kick. $15 for a 4-pack
As always, thank you to our good friends at San Antonio Living! You can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or buy them online at HEB.com. Don’t forget: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles.
