Wine doesn’t have to be expensive to taste good. These budget-friendly bottles are easy on the wallet and easy on the palate. As always, everything can be found at your local H-E-B.

I want to start with an award-winning Chardonnay – the Treana Central Coast Chardonnay. This wine is a classic California Chardonnay without being over the top. It’s not too oaky or buttery: Think Crème Brûlé with a hint of mandarin oranges, lemon and pineapple. It has a wonderful crisp finish. $16

Up next, is a Cabernet Franc called, very simply, The Franc. This wine is full-bodied with a deep crimson color and bursts with flavors of dark berries and plums. The finish has a touch of spices and black pepper. This pairs great with steak and anything you cook on the grill. $15

Last, another for you red fans – a traditional and loved wine from Italy’s Piedmont region – the Ruvei Barbera d’Alba by Marchesi di Barolo. This wine has fruity notes of dark cherries and blackberries with a hint of spiciness and vanilla. Its bright acidity makes it a perfect food pairing wine – it can handle rich sauces and meats and is a perfect pizza wine. $19
As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
