We hope wherever you are that it’s finally feeling like fall! While some people are heading to pumpkin patches and picking apples, we’re picking out bottles of wine. See what we’re filling our baskets with this season. As always, you can find these bottles at your local H-E-B!
Up first, a Chardonnay that has a small price tag, but is big on flavor. I’ve mentioned the Layer Cake wines a few times in my H-E-B wine segments and this week I’m sharing their Deep Roots Reserve Chardonnay from California’s central coast. You’ll taste apples, pears and a hint of vanilla in this wine. It pairs easily with chicken and fish or it’s perfectly good all by itself. $13
Okay Pinot fans, I think you’ll enjoy this pick. This is Stoller Pinot Noir, a soft, elegant wine that comes from one of my favorite Pinot Noir regions, The Willamette Valley of Oregon. This time of year I would pair this up with a grilled rack of Lamb, Roasted Chicken or some of my mom’s Pork Chops. $24
Last but not least, a fun wine for all you ghosts and goblins out there: The Seven Deadly Zins Sinner’s select from Lodi. This wine is made from very old vines so it bursts with flavors of berries and plums. A luscious little zinfandel and it makes the perfect party wine at $12
As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
