‘Tis the season for holiday entertaining and EVERY gathering needs wine and dessert! If you’re looking for something easy to grab for Thanksgiving or your next holiday party, The Texan Cafe & Pie Shop in Hutto, Texas has you covered with over 30 different house pies! I visited my friends at We Are Austin and shared some of my favorites, PLUS a few versatile H-E-B wine finds to pair with whatever you’ll be eating for the holidays. Watch the segment here!
Tanji’s Wine Finds:
We’re kicking it off with bubbles! These are always a great choice because they’ll cut through the richness of all the comfort foods we enjoy during the holidays. The Chateau de Villelongue Cremant de Limoux is made near the champagne region and has very similar qualities of champagne, but without the price tag. $20
Pinot Noir is a classic Thanksgiving wine. I’m enjoying The Crossings Pinot Noir from New Zealand. It has delicate notes of berries and black plums with a hint of earthiness. It’s medium-bodied and velvety smooth. $17
Another traditional pairing is Chardonnay and I’m recommending The Calling Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley. This wine is well-balanced with crisp acidity. You’ll taste bright notes of pear, melon and lemon. $27
As always, thank you to our good friends at KEYE CBS Austin! You can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or buy them online at HEB.com. Bonus: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles.
