It feels like we’ve been talking about them forever, but the holidays are finally here! We’re getting in the holly jolly spirit with my friend Jamie from the H-E-B in Houston and she’s sharing her must-buy bottles for the season.
My Wine Finds:
If you’re like me and enjoy a good Washington Cabernet, you’ll love the Airfield Estates Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s softer with cocoa on the nose, plus more cocoa on the palate with black current and black cherries. This is a crowd-pleasing wine, perfect for a party! $15
Next, is an Italian Cab called Legit Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a little more earthiness and finesse. It’s not going to be big and jammy, but lighter in body while still being smooth and having a lot of structure. This is a great wine to pair with food! $40
You’ll need bubbles during the holidays and we’re suggesting the Champagne Collet Brut. Compared to most champagnes, it’s made of a higher percentage of Pinot Meunier grapes. This grape makes it brighter, more fruit-forward with a subtle toastiness. Like all bubbles, the acidity in this makes this another great food pairing wine. $42
You can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or buy them online at HEB.com. Bonus: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles.
Thank you for informing me about good wines. I feel more confident when taking a bottle to a friends home. Thanks
Thank you for watching, Gary. Happy New Year!
