If a trip to France is a little out of the budget for your wish list, you can still drink like you’re gazing at the Eiffel Tower! Add these French finds to the top of your list because we’re covering all the bases with some amazing producers. PLUS, everything can be found at your local H-E-B!
It’s the holidays so let’s start with bubbles. This sparkling is from one of the classic French Champagne houses, but it isn’t produced in the Champagne region (which helps you save on cost). The Mumm Napa Blanc De Blancs is absolutely delightful with bright lemon, apple and peach. Bubbles will pair perfectly with anything on your table and it’s a great way to get the celebration started, too. $19
Up next, a classic from one of the premier Bordeaux chateaus: Haut-Brion. This is the Clarendelle Rouge. Clarendelle is, believe it or not, named after a Texan with San Antonio ties who bought Haut-Brion in the last century. You’ll taste all of the classic Bordeaux notes of dark cherry, plum, tobacco, and a little spice, at a fraction of the price. $18
Up next, a wine from one of the biggest wine producers in France’s Rhone Valley: The E. Guigal Saint-Joseph Rhone Blend. This bottle hales from the Saint Joseph region of the Rhone that’s known for its outstanding, complex red wines. You’ll taste plums, vanilla and baking spices in this one. It’s 100% Syrah and is velvety smooth. It will be a fantastic addition to your holiday table and pairs especially well with roasted meats. $35
As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
