Whether your New Year’s resolutions are to save money or start a healthier lifestyle, you can still treat yourself with wine. We’re all thinking low cal and low budget – as in reasonably priced, guilt-free wines. I’ve gotcha covered this week, with three picks from H-E-B that are easy on the wallet and easy on the waistline.
You know how much we love bubbles at Goodtaste, so up first is The Skinny Fizz. You’ll taste apricots, apples, and pears in this wine. It contains 39% fewer calories than other dry sparkling white at only 59 calories for a four-ounce pour. $15
You can give up the carbs but never your favorite Pinot Noir, right? This is the Hahn Special Selection Pinot Noir. Easy-drinking with flavors of black cherries, a little spice and a hint of cola with a little vanilla on the finish, you’ll love the price as much as the wine. $11
And last but not least, a wine for pizza-lovers everywhere. Curl up by the fire with the 12 E Mezzo Primativo – an Italian Zinfandel with low alcohol (only 12.5%) meaning low calories. Because of its big red fruit and bright acidity, this wine is perfectly matched for pizza, spaghetti, and anything Italian on your menu. $15
As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
