As the temps continue to rise and show no signs of dropping, we’re looking for every way to stay cool this summer. As you know, we’re big fans of light and refreshing wines, so Tanji virtually visited our friends at KPRC Houston Life and shared a few favorites and turned them into frozen wine slushies! Mix up your drink routine with one of these frozen cocktails and a few perfect bottles for blending. Find the full segment HERE.
Frozen Peach Wine Slushie
Get your blender ready for this simple two-ingredient cocktail from The Forked Spoon! With only frozen peaches and wine of your choice, it really doesn’t get easier than this. We recommend the Layer Cake Sauvignon Blanc ($11) for a refreshing sipper!
Frosé (Frozen Rosé)
Frosé has become a summer classic. One of Tanji’s personal favorites, this rosey wine is so refreshing when blended with strawberries, lemon juice and a touch of sugar. Follow this recipe from Bon Appétit and try it with the Stella Rosa Ruby Rosé Grapefruit ($14) for an added touch of fragrant grapefruit juice.
Blackberry Slushie
Freeze a bushel of your juicy end-of-season blackberries for this cooling drink from The View From Great Island. Simply wash and dry your fruit and pop them in the freezer for an hour or two until they’re frozen solid, then blend! We suggest you use the Don Simon Floral Sangria ($10) – the dark blackberry goes so well with the rich fruit and spice notes of this red wine sangria.

i love trying new wines, especially ones you’ve recommended, unfortunatly it seems our HEB doesn’t always
carry them. i’m not one to run from store to store so i miss out on a lot. 🙁

Joann- Never hesitate to ask your HEB wine mgr about wines you’d like to try. They are very helpful and can bring wines in for you.
