We’re celebrating all things Italian this month! For the occasion, Tanji handpicked a few wine finds perfect for pairing with a cheesy slice of pizza and a savory bowl of pasta. As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
From northern Italy, the Suavia Soave Classico is bright, crisp, and zesty—similar to a sauvignon blanc. This soave pairs perfectly with rich Italian seafood pastas, scallops, even risotto. $16
Next, a red wine varietal that always pairs perfectly with food, barbera. The Pico Maccario Barbera d’Asti Villa Della Rosa is luscious with a hint of violets, loads of blackberries flavors, and bright acidity. It’s a perfect pizza or spaghetti-and-meatballs wine! $10
Last but not least is a Lambrusco. Lambruscos are back, and better than ever. This is the Lini 910 Lambrusco Scuro. It starts with a nice burst of berries but finishes dry and crisp with a slight effervescence. It will pair with any pasta or pizza you have on the table. $17
