This Mother’s Day, treat mom to some deli! Try their house specialties including sky-scraping sandwiches, filled with a variety of traditional deli favorites; corned beef and pastrami, cured in-house and used in a variety of dishes; entree salads; smoked fish; stuffed cabbage served in a sweet & sour sauce; Hungarian goulash; chicken soup; Kenny & Ziggy’s famous chopped liver, served as an appetizer, on the deli plate and in a variety of sandwiches; homemade cheese blintzes, served with strawberry or blueberry preserves; noodle kugel; kasha varnishkas, traditional dish of egg barley farfel with mushrooms; New York-style cheesecake; and world’s largest éclair. Relish Restaurant & Bar is celebrating mom with a special set menu on Sunday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For $48 per person, guests will begin their meals by indulging in assorted pastries such as scones, muffins and biscuits for the table. Each person will have their choice of one starter such as Tomato Gazpacho, Deviled Eggs with Crispy Fried Chicken or Smoked Beef Carpaccio, followed by a selection of an entree such as the Three Cheese Quiche Lorraine, Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict, the Classic Burger or Lobster B.L.T. and choice of dessert such as a Trio of Cookies and Milk or Key Lime Pie.
Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen; Multiple Locations
Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen’s two locations will be open for both in-house dining and curbside takeout for Mother’s Day. The full menu with specials will be available for in-house dining. For pick-up, both restaurants are offering the Mother’s Parrillada, which includes mesquite-grilled beef fajitas, mesquite-grilled chicken fajitas, mesquite-grilled quail, four enchiladas of your choice (classic cheese enchiladas or chicken enchiladas with salsa verde), guacamole, rice, beans, tortillas (corn or flour), chips and salsa and tres leches cake. It serves four and sells for $79.95. Add four grilled shrimp for $9. A second option is The South Texas Mesquite BBQ Picnic Pack which includes a mesquite-grilled whole chicken, mesquite-grilled baby back ribs, Sylvia's famous potato salad, Mexican rice, charro beans, guacamole, corn tortillas, sopapillas and chips and salsa. It serves two-four for $34 or four-six for $65. Reservations are encouraged but walk-in guests are welcome if space is available. Those wishing to wait for open seats must return to their cars or wait at a distance away from the entrance. Each restaurant has about 50 seats available, including the patios.
