We don’t like to pick favorites—especially with wine. But of the many new bottles we’ve tried this season, we have a few we think deserve a special shout out. Read on for our best sips of the season and, as always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
Up first is a delightful Chardonnay from Washington state by Sokol Blosser. This gem has flavors of juicy pears, apples, and even toasty bread notes. It would pair beautifully with cheeses, pasta dishes, chicken and fish…even Thai food! $25
This wine is an adventure in a bottle. The Tapiz Alta Collection Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina is produced by a notable winemaker whose resume includes the Chateau Petrus in France and Dominus in Napa. We love the juicy blackberries, currants, cocoa, and hints of wild herbs that you’ll taste in this wine. $21
Say hello to the Portlandia Momtazi Pinot Noir, a refined wine with delicate layers of flavor and tons of finesse. Bing cherry, cocoa, and a hint of spice make it velvety smooth on your palate with nice acidity. This wine won’t dominate the food but will complement it perfectly. $40
Last but certainly not least, a Zinfandel we absolutely adore—the Brady Zin from Paso Robles. This wine delivers layers of ripe raspberry, rich vanilla, and cracked black pepper. The winemaker is originally from Texas which explains the pretty bluebonnet on the label. It’s now a regular at our table. $20
Please note availability and prices may vary.

Tanji, I found the recipe you posted a few years back for French Onion Popovers. I made them last weekend with the onion butter and they were beyond delicious.
Thanks for the wine finds at HEB.
