A brand-new season of Goodtaste with Tanji wouldn’t be complete without new wine finds! We’re kicking things off with some fantastic picks that go beautifully with fall weather and fun. As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
Up first, a beautiful, classic Chardonnay from Burgundy, the place known for making the best Chards in the world. This Louis Jadot Petites Pierres Pouilly-Fuissé is one of Tanji’s favorites. It pairs perfectly with pasta, chicken, fish … even a charcuterie board. It’s worth every penny if you like classic Burgundian Chardonnay. ($29)
Next, get your tailgating on with this Astica Malbec. This Argentinian Malbec is just the thing for any kind of outdoor grilling, with its cherry and pomegranate jamminess. You’ll love the price as much as the taste, so stock up! ($7)
Tanji’s third pick of the week is the A to Z Essence Pinot Noir from Oregon. A wine in the classic Oregonian style, it’s nice all by itself, but it’s a lovely sip with chicken, pork, salmon, pasta—you name it. A to Z is a consistently good producer of Pinots, including this one. ($23)
