Changes in weather call for changes in your wine selections! In the cooler temps, you’ll want to get your glasses ready for a variety of luscious and cozy bottles you can rely on at your table this time of year. Find some of our favorite picks below, which, as always, can be found at your local H-E-B (along with plenty more!).
We rodeo in Texas all year long, but in celebration of rodeo season, say hello to a fantastic Cabernet simply called Ride. The winemaker, Remington “Remmi” Jorgensen, is indeed from Texas, with an impressive résumé that includes working for one of my wine stars, Rajat Parr. This wine’s fruit comes from the hallowed ground of Howell Mountain, so you know it’s going to be good! ($36)
Who doesn’t love Bread & Butter wines? You’ve likely heard of their popular Chardonnay, but now make room for their Cabernet. Boasting dark fruit with flavors of vanilla and a hint of spice, this is an easy-drinking Cab at a very easy price. ($12)
Do you know what wine always makes me think of sunshine? A zesty Sauvignon Blanc! This Dry Creek Fumé Blanc from Sonoma never spends time in oak, so it’s bright and refreshing, with citrus flavors of lemon, lime, and grapefruit. This pairs nicely with seafood, Thai food, and sushi, but it’s also great all by itself. ($13)
