Tanji dropped by News4 San Antonio this week to talk great food and great wine. Tanji is excited about a new happy hour at Blu Prime Steakhouse in San Antonio. She says, “They’re doing a happy hour right now that is not to be missed. It’s incredible. We’re talkin’ about some serious food items.” One standout is the pork belly atop charred butternut squash puree. “It’s just a beautiful, interesting taste,” says Tanji. During happy hour, it’s a $10 appetizer and it’s big enough to be a meal! They also offer an outstanding Wagyu carpaccio with caper aioli for $10 during happy hour. Or try the $10 truffle steak fries served with garlic aioli. And there’s plenty more where that came from – it’s a must-try spot if you’re in the Alamo city. If staying home is more your thing, Tanji brought along a few of her favorite wine finds, including Josh Cellars Seaswept – a light, refreshing blend of sauvignon blanc and pinot grigio. Tanji says, “It’s the perfect summer wine for San Antonio.” As always, you can find Tanji’s favorite wines (and many more) at H-E-B.
Tanji also talked about her new podcast, Goodtaste for the Soul, where she talks food, wine, and stories that lift our spirits in so many ways. You can subscribe to her podcast right here!
