S11E9 – Goodtaste for the Soul: The Empty Cross

With the tragic hill country flooding of 2025, Kerrville was caught in the center of the devastation. Believers had a powerful symbol there to turn to for hope and comfort: a towering cross on a hill, just off of I-10 in Kerrville. But what might surprise folks is how big a battle there was in the local community to keep that cross from ever being constructed- especially from some surprising big names in town. Despite all that opposition, the cross not only became a local landmark for the area- but perhaps there’s a bigger reason why that cross was needed. In this special holiday edition of Goodtaste for the Soul, Tanji interviews the artist behind this cross to discover an even deeper meaning behind its creation.
