Summer seems to be getting longer and hotter but I have found some unique wines to break the monotony of these sweltering days. My H-E-B wine haul has some new and interesting flavors that are ideal for enjoying in this Texas heat. Thanks to my friend’s at KEYE CBS Austin. Watch the full segment here.
Pasqua’s 11 Minutes Rosé de Venezie is the perfect porch wine with a light and crisp flavor. Rosé all day, any day and every day is fine by me! If you’re into dryer wines, the Château Bonnet Blanc is for you. Exuding the zesty taste of lime, this wine is full of minerality and pairs well with oysters and light dishes. Domaine de la Perrière’s Sancerre is a beautiful and authentic French Sauvignon Blanc that would be a fun, new addition to any party or food pairing. Compared to the Château Bonnet Blanc, it has a richer more tempered mouthfeel but a similar brightness and acidity. Villa Pozzi’s Nero D’Avola is a sharp contrast from well-known, often robust, red wines. This red is unique because of its lighter flare and was made to be enjoyed with Sicilian seafood, so you won’t feel weighed down after a glass.
Remember to choose wines based on their region of origin. During the summertime, stick to wines from hotter climates. They will be the ones that are bright and refreshing and that will keep you cool all summer long! The best part about being adventurous and trying new wines is that you won’t break the bank with these finds! View my wine picks from H-E-B below!
