If you’re really organized and already starting to plan for the holiday season festivities, hats off to you. Whether it’s for your Thanksgiving table or a party, I’m sharing with my friends at CBS Austin two classic and two unexpected wine picks for you add to your H-E-B shopping list. Watch the segment here.
My Wine Finds:
My first pick is a Pinot Noir is from Wente Central Coast and it is velvety smooth. I find that some producers of Pinot Noir make them too big and jammy, but this one is quite delicate. $20
Alpha Omega makes two versions of their Chardonnay, one is aged in oak barrels the other is not – today I’m sharing the unoaked version. I like this one because it’s brighter and crisper and it’s going to pair with a lot of foods from that bright acidity. $22
If you’re into reds but don’t like the boldness of a cabernet, you’re going to enjoy Clos de los Siete Malbec. An Argentinian wine, it pairs with almost anything and is really great all by itself because it doesn’t have many tannins. $15
Aged bourbon barrels, the 1000 Stories Cabernet Sauvignon will be the perfect pick for your party goers who are bourbon and red wine fans. On the nose, you’ll get hints of vanilla and caramel which adds a roundness to the cabernet. $20
As always, thank you to our good friends We Are Austin on KEYE CBS Austin.
