Cold Outside? Turn the Heat up Inside!
Nothing to warm you up like a big bowl of hot chili. I love this recipe from the 410 Diner. It’s not always on their menu, but when it is, it sells out FAST. I always order mine with a side of pico de gallo. When I heard we were in for a ‘frozen’ week, I called Dean at 410 Diner to see if he’d share his recipe…he agreed. Enjoy!
410 Diner's Chili
Ingredients
- 3 lbs ground sirloin(90/10)
- 30 oz ranch style beans (2 cans)
- 30 oz kidney beans (2 cans)
- 30 oz diced tomatoes (2 cans)
- 28 oz tomato juice (2 cans)
- 8 oz chopped onion
- 2 oz chopped fresh garlic
- 2 Tsp brown sugar
- 2 oz Worcestershire sauce
- 2 oz chili powder
- 1 Tsp seasoned salt
- 1/2 Tsp salt
- 1/2 Tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, brown ground sirloin with onion, garlic, seasoned salt, salt and pepper. Drain grease.
- To ground beef mixture, add diced tomatoes, tomato juice, ranch style beans, kidney beans, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and brown sugar. Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes.
- Top with grated cheddar cheese, onions or tortilla chips if desired.
