Field and Tides Pimento Cheese Fritters
These Pimento Cheese Fritters are the talk of the town in Houston! We snagged the recipe from our friend Chef Travis Lenig of Field and Tides in Houston's Heights neighborhood.
Ingredients
Cheese Mix
- 1 cup cheddar
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup pepper jack
- 1/4 cup cream cheese soften
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire
Breading
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 4 eggs-beaten
Frying
- 5 cups soy bean oil or canola oil
Instructions
Form Balls
- Fold all ingredients together, form into 1 oz balls.
- Dredge balls into All Purpose Flour then into eggs and then coat with Panko bread crumbs.
Frying
- Bring oil to 350 degrees and carefully place fritters into oil. Fry until golden brown.
