Silver Oak’s talented winemaker Daniel Baron counts some 16 years as producing the big cabernet sauvignon that so many have come to know and love. Daniel spent time in Bordeaux working in vineyards there…an experience that he says played a huge role in his pursuit of producing quality wine.
The Silver Oak Alexander Valley, which began production in 1972, is produced in Sonoma County where the climate is warmer and the soils are more fertile than those in Napa. The wines are a bit softer as a result, so the Silver Oak Alexander Valley cabs are 100% cabernet.
The Napa Valley Silver Oak, started in 1979, is in the cooler region of Napa with volcanic soils, so the wines have more tannins. Merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot are blended with the cabernet grapes.
The Silver Oak wines are available at H-E-B and wine stores all over town.
