They had me at hello…literally! I’d heard great things about the Breakfast Klub…a funky, fun place for a good cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast, so my expectations were high when we made a visit.
It was a brisk morning standing in the long line outside the front door, but it was worth it. Free coffee for those of us craving that first cup of the morning, and then there was Mary. Mary sold me on the Breakfast Klub before I ever set foot inside. Her cheery welcome and delightful spirit brightened my morning.
Mary’s awesome attitude was just the beginning. Every one of the people who served up our fine breakfast fare was incredibly friendly. What a great experience.
Oh yeah…about the food. Fabulous! I fell hook, line and sinker for the catfish and grits. I’ll go back…for the Wings and Waffles! And, I’ll bring the video camera.
Tanji! Great mention on the Breakfast Klub. You wrapped it up perfectly! We were in Houston staying with friends in River Oaks and we HAD to have breakfast at the Klub. How ’bout the hostess? Mary said, “Oh, you are new. Let me help you…” Those grits are amazing. The entire ordeal was wonderful. Our children loved the patio and pancakes. My husband really wanted to dine elsewhere until he heard, “Hi!”…and yes, she had him at hello as well!
Great work Tanji. Love your blog.
