Rosé to the rescue! If you’re looking for relief just as temperatures are heating up, take on the remaining summer months with a wine that’s just as great to pair with as it is all by itself….rosé.
July is a great time to include one of our picks with your next picnic or BBQ. Three very different varietals:
Our first is from winemaker Charles Bieler, the Bieler Père et Fils, named after his daughter Sabine. Mostly Syrah with a little bit of Gamay, this selection comes from Provence — the standard bearer of rosés. And it’s nice! Dry, crisp, clean with plenty of fruit flavoring. Serve this one chilled, but closer to room temperature for the wine to really open up.
Next comes Tess from Napa Valley. This one is aged 10 months; a “red & white blend” of Cabernet, Syrah and Chardonnay. It has a lighter flavoring to it, though not too sweet (a big misconception about rosés). The perfect porch or patio wine. 🙂
Need a reason to celebrate? How about a little bubbly. Our last pick for July is a Brut Rosé, cremant in style, by Albert Bichot for bubbles any time!
