Hey gang! A quick note on pairing wine with your favorite sweets. It can be a challenge, but not so much if you remember a few simple rules…
Generally speaking, your dessert wine should be as sweet or slightly sweeter than the dessert it’s paired with. Also think about your pairings in terms of color…the lighter the dessert, the lighter the wine and vice versa. Fruity desserts, which are naturally acidic, fare best with a sweet wine with ample acidity. Simple, right? 🙂
Consider ‘intensity’ as well. Your darker, heavier desserts (most anything chocolate or fudge) usually call for deeper, full-bodied reds to compliment.
