Whipped and ready in minutes, it wouldn’t be the holidays without homemade eggnog to sip on! Good for while your cookin’ up something fierce for guests, or as a ‘lite’ dessert! Kudos to these creamy creations found around the Lone Star State…
Salty’s Sow’s Hog Nog [above] calls for spiced rum, white chocolate liqueur and brown sugar simple syrup, shaken and strained into a rocks glass, and topped with a dash of cinnamon. Pig out…pun intended! 😉
This Wood Fired Eggnog, compliments of Restaurant Gwendolyn, is served warm with a distinct smokiness. Might be the burning wood added to the mixture! Not to worry, that oak, hickory or maple you use WILL be strained out before long…but its essence remains. Add a dollop of brandy at the bottom of a coffee mug for a very merry ending indeed!
Ante up for the Ango Nogg from Anvil Bar & Refuge – a trendy spot known for its cocktails that feature housemade bitters. This eggnog is aptly named for the Angostura bitters (botanically infused) that forms the base of the drink. Served up over cubed ice in a Zombie Glass, it’s one tall order to tackle!
