Tanji Talks: Bringing Wine and Tex-Mex to the Party

Join me as I visit my friends at San Antonio Living and share my picks for what to bring to your next holiday party. Everyone in San Antonio loves Tex-Mex, so why not bring a dish that is sure to please from Palenque Grill! Located at The Shops at La Cantera, Palenque Grill also is a great place to take a load off while you’re doing your holiday shopping. I’m sharing some of my favorites like their Mexican Street Corn and, of course, the tacos. For drinking, I also have four wines that will pair perfectly with your Tex-Mex feast that are around $20 or less. Catch the full segment here.

Tanji’s Wine Finds:

Gloria Ferrer Blanc De Blanc is made with chardonnay grapes and has a bright acidity. It pairs with just about everything, making it a great wine to have on hand. $19

Calling all Champagne lovers! You’re going to want to try this pick. The Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Reserve, a true French Champagne, has floral aromas, a touch of fruit and a more round finish.  Approx $22 on sale

Cava is an inexpensive and wonderful sparkling wine. Consider the Mistinguett Cava Rosé for your next soirée. It’s dry, yet vibrant and fruity with a medium body and a smooth finish. $13

Lastly, is the Layer Cake Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is aged in bourbon barrels, which gives it notes of vanilla, caramel and dark cherries – a lovely rich wine for sipping or pouring with dessert. $15
