Are you up to test your palate and channel your inner sommelier? I believe that great wines can be found at all price points, so this week I stop by to visit my friends at CBS Austin and share four award-winning Cabernets fit for any budget! Catch the full segment here.
Tanji’s Wine Finds:
First, is the H3 Cabernet Sauvignon from Columbia Crest in Washington state. Wine Spectator gave this pick 90 points which isn’t given out often to bottles of this price — it’s an amazing find. $11
Joseph Carr Cabernet Sauvignon has received high ratings from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. Joseph Carr started out as a world-class sommelier before he began producing his own wine, so you could say he knows what he’s doing, and he’s doing it right. $22
Next, is the Clone 7 Oakville Cabernet from one of the great regions in Napa. Clone 7 makes different Cabernets from other regions – all with different flavors. With this one, you’ll taste the fruit up front — lots of big cherries with hints of oak and vanilla. $30
This last pick is The Calling Cabernet Sauvignon. This winemaker consistently produces beautiful wines. It’s full-bodied and has a velvety texture with earthy notes and a dark raspberry finish. $35
As always, thank you to our good friends at We Are Austin! You can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or buy them online at HEB.com. Don’t forget: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles.

Tanji,
We love watching your shows!
Not long back this year (2020), you highly recommended a Cabernet with a name that started with an “A.”
Can you recall what that might have been?
If you think of more than one, send them all to us. We think we can probably remember the name when we
see it.
It sounded delicious!
Thanks So Much!

Let’s see……there was the Auros, a Mondavi cab for about $50, the Amici Cellars Cab from Napa for $40…the Columbia Crest H3 at about $11 is also in the mix even though it doesn’t start with ‘A’ … hope that helps 🙂
