It’s citrus season in Texas! I stop by to visit my friends at CBS Austin and share a simple, refreshing salad packed with vitamin C from Helen Greek Food & Wine in Houston. It’s delicious alongside a roast chicken for dinner or next to your eggy casserole for brunch. Also, don’t miss my picks for the perfect bottles to drink with this colorful salad! Catch the full segment here.
Tanji’s Wine Finds:
First, the Riondo Sparkling Rosé from Italy. It has just enough acidity to complement the salad dressing and a hint of strawberry. ($12)
Pinot Grigio is a great salad wine. The Barone Fini Valdadige Pinot Grigio is crisp and clean with subtle honeydew and apple notes. 500 years of winemaking have gone into this bottle, so you know it’s good. ($13)
Another wine I really like with salads (and sushi!) is the Crossings Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. It tastes of juicy lime and grapefruit. ($13)
As always, thank you to our good friends at We Are Austin! You can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or buy them online at HEB.com. Don’t forget: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy 6 or more bottles.
