Whether you’re on keto, Whole30 or even an anti-diet for the New Year, we can all agree on wine! I visited my friends at We Are Austin and shared some winter diet-friendly wines that are all $15 or less. Watch the segment here!
Tanji’s Wine Finds:
No matter what I’m eating this season, I can’t get enough of this wine! The Skinny Fizz Cava only has 75 calories per glass. Similar to champagne, it’s dry and crisp and you’ll get fine effervescent bubbles. $15
If you’re on a veggie-heavy diet, the Sauvion Rosé D Anjou and Vouvray are for you! The Rosé ($13) is fruit-forward, but not sweet, with very low-alcohol. It pairs well with salad because no matter what dressing you use it won’t compete with it. The Vouvray ($15) has a touch of minerality with fruit notes from the Chenin Blanc grapes. It’s an easy-drinking wine that’s great with all kinds of vegetables, salads or by itself.
If you’re still savoring the warming comfort foods of winter, these are for you! Pour yourself a glass of the Josh Cellars Sonoma Reserve Chardonnay to go with that roast chicken or creamy pasta. I’m a huge fan of so many of the Josh wines, and like all of their wines, this one is well-rounded and balanced like every great Chardonnay should be. If braised beef is on the menu, opt for the Clos de los Siete Malbec. This Argentinian wine is made with grapes grown at the base of the Andes with full sunlight, giving it a full-body and a long finish. $15
