We cap off this epic season with a scenic road trip to a shack in the Hill Country: the Alamo Springs Café . This tiny spot is serving up massive, juicy burgers and was voted one of the very best hamburger spots in all of the Lone Star State by Texas Monthly magazine. Plus, it boasts a phenomenal bat cave nearby with a STUNNING sight to be seen when those creepy creatures take flight.
Then, we visit one of the oldest buildings in Austin that’s believed to be haunted. The Clay Pit is a modern Indian restaurant with spicy calamari and kebabs fired up in an authentic tandoor oven.
Lastly, we finish strong at the Crawfish Shack in Crosby just outside Houston, where a husband and wife duo are cooking up more Cajun crawfish than anywhere else in America (6,000 pounds a day!).
Don’t miss any of it, PLUS Tanji’s fantastic H-E-B Wine Finds! Check out your showtime below.

In September I hosted a group of my high school friends at the Haven River Inn in Comfort. Gave them a great Hill Country week. My final send off was to go to Alamo springs Cafe for the “eating adventure”! I was told that Thursday night was no problem. so we showed up…to our surprise 50+ Miata Car Club members from Oklahoma were there and overloaded the place! sooo our experience was less that great, out of some food, sat in the kitchen.. etc..so when I saw your show last night i thought ” OH I want my friends to see this!” but I cannot find a way to find the video of that part of the show to copy so I can share it with my friends. (15 people from 6 different states from West Coast thru East coast. Any help you can give me will be most appreciated.

I caught the show about Alamo Springs Café on Saturday. Sunday morning my husband and I had planned to take a drive to get out of the house and guess where we headed. Service was different because of Social Distancing but no problem, ordered by phone and waited for delivery to our car, Nice breeze and we enjoyed the best burgers ever, picnic style. Bacon burger for me and hubby went with burger with swiss. So worth the 2 1/2 hour drive. Great food and attentive service. I do think we will come back.
