Mongers BBQ Shrimp
Head on BBQ Gulf shrimp tossed with tasso (ham) from my friends at Mongers Market + Kitchen in Austin! Served with a toasted baguette and charred lemon half.
Ingredients
- 16 pcs head on shrimp 9-12 ct
- 1 oz olive oil
- 2 oz Tasso thinly sliced
- 1 Tblsp chopped garlic
- 3 oz Worcestershire sauce
- 2 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 Tblsp creole mustard
- 2 tsp Creole seasoning
- 2 tsp Black Pepper
- kosher salt to taste
- 1/4 lb butter cubed
Instructions
- Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Tasso and garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 min.
- Add shrimp and toss to coat with Tasso, garlic and oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt, black pepper and creole seasoning. Add Worcestershire, mustard and lemon juice.
- When shrimp are just about cooked, 2 minutes, remove from heat and stir in butter.
- Divide shrimp among 4 plates, top with the sauce. Serve with baguette and lemon halves.
