Spicy Rum Red Velvet Cake
This version of Rails' rich & creamy Red Velvet Cake comes with an extra kick! We've added rum extract as well as chile chipotle powder to our mixture from H-E-B Cooking Connection for a twist on this devilish delight...
Ingredients
- 1 box Red Velvet Cake Mix
- 1 tbsp McCormick's Chile Chipotle Powder
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tsp Rum Extract
- 1 bar HEB Cream Cheese room temperature
- ¾ cup butter room temperature
Instructions
- Bake cake according to directions on box, adding chile chipotle powder to batter.
- Remove and allow to cool (place cake in freezer up to 6 hours for easier handling).
- In a mixer, whip cream cheese till on medium speed until fluffy about 2 minutes.
- By double boil method, melt down chocolate chips. Add melted chocolate, rum extract, and butter to mixer on medium speed, and mix until creamy and smooth.
- Ice cake whole or cut into mini cakes and dress them up as desired.
