Good music and good wine are two of my favorite things and recently, I was lucky enough to experience both! Watch the video above to see my interview with Pat Monahan, the lead singer of Train, and learn more about his delicious line of wines called Drops of Jupiter, named for the beautiful song (one of my favorite songs ever!).
Drops of Jupiter features a fabulous selection of wines including a Central California Pinot Noir, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, and an Australia Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s part of Train’s Save Me, San Francisco Wine Company, started by Monahan and other members of train.
Pat Monahan told me he got into wines thanks to his friend, James Foster at Concannon Winery. The wines are a way the band connects with fans as they travel around the country sharing their music.
“We wanted to make something that had a value for music fans and wine fans,” said Monahan.
Proceeds of wine sales go toward an amazing organization in San Francisco called Family House. Family House serves as a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
I asked Pat if wine making may inspire him to write a new song, to which he smiled and said, “Maybe!” Here’s to hoping!
