School starts back in just a few weeks – can you believe it! For the perfect summer send-off, I brought along cuisine from two local Mexican food essentials to SA Living. We paired each dish with festive wines from H-E-B. Feel free to indulge in one last hurrah before school starts! Two of my longtime favorites for good Tex Mex – Aldaco’s and Nicha’s – are trusted names known far and wide in San Antonio. Blanca Aldaco (“La Maestra”) is famous for her bringing Tres Leches to the Alamo City, as well as her award-winning margaritas. The Garcia family of Nicha’s shared their killer chilaquiles and this insanely delish Texas Fried Burrito! It’s stuffed with beans, cheese, your choice of meat (picadillo, carne guisada, al carbon or beef or chicken fajita), and topped with chili con carne and cheese….
Pairing:
Eppa Sangria – my go-to sangria; all-organic; low alcohol I’ve also got my eye on an effervescent Strawberry Moscato and a cab with a spicy kick – the Cabanero – that you’ll find at H-E-B. For more delicious recipes and fun food and wine pairing ideas, subscribe to my newsletter.
