If you’re a regular of this column, then you already know that we’re talking Restaurant Weeks all month long…that glorious time of year when Houston eateries offer some incredible meal deals. And keep in mind, a portion of all the dollars spent dining goes to The Houston Food Bank. This awesome endeavor raised more than $1.6 million last year.
BTW, the restaurants are in alphabetical order… To see my first round of choices from last week, head here.
Americas – 2040 West Gray
By all means go to Americas in River Oaks for the incredible Latin/Mediterranean food but also for the dramatic décor. You can see more of it here. The Corduas are wonderful hosts, and the food here always shines. You can see their RW menu here.
Arcodoro – 5000 Westheimer Road
Authentic Sardinian food shines at this long time Uptown spot. Arcodoro is offering four different menus to select from— a Meat Menu, Seafood Menu, Sardinian Tasting Menu and Vegetarian Menu—how cool is that! Additionally, you can opt for a wine pairing with your meal for an additional $28. Be sure to try their very own Effix Prosecco! You can see Arcodoro’s RW menus here.
Brennan’s of Houston – 3300 Smith Street
Talk about an incredible value – $35 for a three course meal at this iconic restaurant where Executive Chef Danny Trace’s team consecutively shines. Brennan’s famous Turtle Soup and legendary Banana’s Foster are among the choices on their RW menu. You can see more on Brennan’s RW menu here.
Caracol – 2200 Post Oak Boulevard
This is one of my favorite Uptown spots, and I’m not alone. Just check out the dining room any single day of the week – reservations are strongly recommended! Chef Hugo Ortega and his team do an incredible job creating a delightful experience that features creative craft cocktails, delicious Mexican-Pacific inspired dishes and impeccable service. BTW, Caracol’s famous dessert, El Coco, is among their dessert choices on the menu. See how they make their own chocolate for this dreamy creation here. See more of their RW menu here.
Etoile – 1101-11 Uptown Park Boulevard
Etoile boasts a Master Chef along with it’s exquisite French cuisine. I adore this restaurant. Whether it’s for a leisurely lunch or a romantic dinner, the food is always delicious. To see Etoile’s RW menu click here.
Olivette at The Houstonian – 111 North Post Oak Lane
Olivette is offering their three course RW menu at $35 per person, and it features some wonderful choices. I would suggest making a weekend out of this experience. Dine at Olivette, stay the night at The Houstonian and spend the next day at their luxurious Trellis Spa. And yes, there’s great pool time here. To see Olivette’s RW menu, click here.
Peli Peli – Galleria and 110 Vintage Park Blvd
This South African inspired spot was so popular in its first location at Vintage Park that it’s now opened a second location in the Galleria. Chef/Owner Paul Friedman’s verve is evident in the beautiful dramatic interiors of both restaurants and in the colorful, flavorful dishes he creates. You can see more of both here. Peli Peli’s RW menu is here.
Zelko Bistro – 705 E. 11th Street
I love this funky little spot in The Heights. Cozy comfort food with locally sourced ingredients make it shine. And by all means, don’t leave without buying a jar or two or three of their delicious honey. You can see their RW menu here.
Next week, I’ll have more awesome choices for your exciting weeks of dining out! Meantime, head to Goodtaste.tv for a chance to win a fabulous stay at the beautiful Houstonian Hotel.
