You’ll want to stock up on the grub at Stockyard Bar-B-Q, rated one of the best barbecue restaurants in Houston! Located off Westheimer near the Galleria, the folks here cook their meats low and slow over 100% seasoned oak wood for a light smoky flavor with no additional butter or oil!
Stockyard also boasts some fantastic sides from their Western Beans (slow cooked pinto beans with tricolored bell pepper, onion and cilantro) to the Heart Attack Potatoes – a creamy, twice baked potato casserole with sour cream, bacon, onion, cheese and chives.
When they’re in-season, Stockyard goes through a ton of crawfish…
Other eats available all the time:
Chicken Sandwich
Featuring chopped or sliced chicken breast on a traditional bun or ‘po-boy’ style. Plated with house cut fries and extra barbecue sauce.
Chuck Wagon Salad
A mighty mix of Romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber, purple onions, shredded cheddar, and your choice of smoked meat and dressing. We went with the Rosemary Turkey Breast. 🙂
Beef Brisket & Ribs
Talk about famous fixtures; both the Beef Brisket and Beef Ribs are slow smoked 18 hours and 8 hours respectively!
BBQ Nachos
Here’s to homemade tortilla chips, queso, choice of meat (in our case, pulled pork!), jalapeño, chives, bacon and sour cream.
