A brand new season demands some exciting new wines to drink! Whether you like a fruity rosé, a bold cabernet or a citrusy sauvignon blanc, I have a little something for everyone. As always, you can find all of these bottles at your local H-E-B. Here, my Goodtaste-approved wine picks.
Channel your inner reality star with Vanderpump Rosé from Real Housewife of Beverly Hills, Lisa Vanderpump. While the show might be filled with complex, bitter moments, this wine is an easy, drinkable option. I usually steer clear of “Hollywood wines”, but I found this bottle from Provence to be crisp, dry and have just the right amount of fruity undertones. $19.98.
Cab fans, rejoice! This pick is going to be your favorite all year long. Chateau Buena Vista Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is full-bodied, velvety and everything you want a cabernet to be. It pairs perfectly with steak, as you can imagine, and is well-worth the slightly higher price tag. Bonus: it regularly goes on sale at H-E-B! $35-50.
This next funky find is for beer drinkers who also enjoy a good glass of wine. It’s a Dry Hopped Sauvignon Blanc from the folks at The Infinite Monkey Theorem in Colorado (a state that really knows its beer). If you’re a wine-purest then this might not be the pick for you, but the hoppy IPA notes meld so well with the hints of citrus, grapefruit and lychee. Pick up these easy-to-drink cans for your next tailgate or river-side picnic. $12.98 for Four 8.5-ounce Cans.
As always, you can find these at you local H-E-B. When you buy six or more wines, you’ll get 10% off your whole wine purchase.
