It’s Texas WINE month! Y’all know how much we love wine at Goodtaste, especially those bottles from our own backyard. Today I share three beautiful and delicious dishes from TRIBUTE, the brand new restaurant at The Houstonian that opens on October 26th. To drink alongside, I also have several award-winning Texas wines from Becker Vineyards, Fall Creek Vineyards, Kuhlman Cellars, Calais Winery and Duchman Winery. Check out the video above to get the scoop on the newest must-visit restaurant in Houston and these fabulous Texas wines.
The Sope de Cabrito is a braised goat served over blue corn masa and refritos. It’s topped with Pickled red cabbage and queso fresco. I’ve paired it with the Kuhlman Cellars Estate Roussanne from the Hill Country. $34
Plump Gulf shrimp with smoked oxtail over creamy cheddar and green onion grits. I’ve paired this with a Cabernet from our friends at Becker Vineyards. $25
Passionfruit Cheesecake made with Valrhona passion fruit chocolate and a homemade graham cracker crust. Drink it with the Becker Vineyards Malmsey Late Harvest Viognier – it’s a great dessert wine! $35
You can find more info about Becker Vineyards, Fall Creek Vineyards and Texas wine picks weekly on both our show, Goodtaste With Tanji, and Goodtaste.TV
Thank you to our friends at KPRC and be sure to head to your local H-E-B to find all of these wines and more!
