Ever been to a French Brasserie? You don’t have to go to Paris to find one. Try this San Antonio restaurant. Head out to 1604 and Huebner and check out the beautiful Brasserie Pavil. My menu favorites, so far, are the French Onion Soup, Grilled Calamari Salad and the Duck Confit Sandwich! For dessert ask for the ‘off the menu’ coffee infused chocolate tart – it’s so new it doesn’t have an official name yet, but it is sooo delicious. Tell them you heard about it here.
You can also find Chef Scott Cohen’s recipe for the Brasserie Pavil’s French Onion Soup in my Favorite Recipes from Favorite Restaurants.
Fiesta Time!
Fiesta® San Antonio, the biggest festival in the Alamo City, is getting even bigger in 2009 with a brand-new kickoff event April 16.
That means that starting this year, Fiesta is 11 days long, thanks to the new “Fiesta Fiesta at the Alamo”—a bigger-than-a-block party in and around Alamo Plaza. D.A. Susan Reed is chairing the event, and she says it will be “Family friendly and fun.” Click here for all the fun Fiesta activities..
