Sack lunches should be inviting, colorful and fun. They’re not just for kids either…you have to eat too after all! Goodtaste dropped by H-E-B Cooking Connection for quick tips on creating some really cute (and healthy) lunches inside your very own bento box.
We discovered some colorful and tasty new products from the Far East that you can use to really liven up that little lunch box. Sistema is a line of tiny plastic, portable bottles that you can use for sauces you might want to keep separate from your main course. H-E-B also carries Kewpie Mayonnaise, the best-selling mayo in Japan, as well as agave ketchup – with no added sugar so those glucose levels don’t spike!
Chef Belinda of Cooking Connection has some entertaining ways to put together your own home-packed meal. She even got crafty and whipped up a ‘scary bento’ [below] using red pepper hummus as a base, which I must say is awfully adorable…
Watch our short video to see how Chef Belinda put together this inviting package in 5 minutes tops. Sometimes it’s okay to play with your food!
