With the holiday weekend fast approaching, we have all you need to pamper Mom on Goodtaste.tv. If you’re still considering a reservation somewhere for brunch on Sunday, act quickly! We’ve assembled a running list of restaurant suggestions still accepting RSVP’s for her special day. She shouldn’t have to lift a finger!
In addition to our recommendations for where to dine on Mother’s Day, I’ve hand picked a few fun treats like the Blueberry Fool [above] to spoil Mom rotten!
Do more than tempt her with this decadent White Chocolate Limoncello Mousse from my longtime pal, Chef Drew Rogers, and his award-winning bakery, Drew’s Pastry Place. Tangy and rich, it’s every bit as authentic as the same dessert you’d find in Italy, garnished with candied lemon and luscious white chocolate. The perfect portion for Mom!
For something equally as sweet and satisfying (not to mention gluten-free!), see this Chocolate Cream Pie, whose crust is made using Tito’s Handmade Vodka (also gluten free). Not to confuse you, this is NOT an alcoholic dessert, as all of that burns off during the baking process. Serve chilled for best flavor…she’ll have no choice but to indulge!
Maybe Mom is in the mood for some “light” boozing. Make something pretty and potent! Milk Punch is usually a bourbon-based beverage that’s enjoyed day and night in places like New Orleans. This creamy concoction only takes a minute or two to whip together. Mix all the ingredients, shake and strain into a rocks glass and dust with nutmeg. Add in some fresh berries and you’re in business! I think it’s excellent with brunch.
