It’s time for my wine finds, and though it is still winter, I have 3 bottles that’ll get you ready for some warmer weather — it is Texas after all. As always, you can find these bottles at your local H-E-B.
First is the H3 Cabernet from Columbia Crest in Washington state. I love Washington cabernets for their full-bodied flavor and softness. I’m not the only one who likes it, Wine Spectator gave this pick 90 points! Think dark cherries and blackberries mixed with vanilla notes coming from the oak barrels — all shining through in one sip. $11
Next, a very drinkable and pairable zinfandel with or without food! This is the Lapis Luna Zinfandel — the title means “once in a blue moon.” This wine comes from the coast of Northern California and is perfect for grilled meats, barbecue or all by itself. $17
For our white wine fans, this chardonnay is sure to please. The Unwined Chardonnay comes from the world famous Russian River Valley. You’ll taste apples, pears and vanilla, and it pairs perfectly with chicken, fish and creamy pasta dishes. It’s also wonderful all by itself, after all, porch weather is coming. $15
