This Easter, start the celebration with a spread of appetizers that are anything but ordinary. From crispy, golden bites to light and elegant starters, these dishes bring spring flavors and festive flair to your holiday table. These are some of our favorite appetizer recipes that we’ve featured on Goodtaste over the years – we think you’ll love them too! Whether you’re craving something sweet like ricotta and honey crostini, or a savory Southern twist like deep-fried deviled eggs, these appetizers are perfect for grazing before the main event. Easy to make and sure to impress, each one is a delicious way to kick off your Easter feast.
Goat Cheese with Edible Flowers and Honey

Edible flowers are an elegant and colorful upgrade to any cheese plate. In this recipe, we roll a log of goat cheese in the vibrant blossoms and then finish it with a drizzle of floral honey and flaky sea salt. It’s a striking cocktail party bite that could not be simpler to prepare. If you’re not lucky enough to grow your own edible flowers, you can sometimes find them at the grocery store near the fresh herbs. Alternatively, visit your local nursery and ask for food-safe blooms that are organic and have not been treated with any pesticides.
Baked Spicy Corn and Chicken Dip

We’re big fans of elote here in Texas, and this creamy dip hits all the right notes! Sweet corn mingles with spicy serrano peppers, gooey cheese, fresh lime, cilantro, and chicken in this loaded baked dip. We like to serve it up in a sturdy cast-iron skillet because it keeps the dip warm longer, but you can also use a baking dish if you don’t have an ovenproof pan.
Spring Salad Pizza

This sheet-pan spring salad pizza is inspired by one of our favorite late-night slices from Artichoke Pizza in New York City. This iconic pizza shop serves up a monster slice loaded with béchamel, mozzarella, pecorino and artichokes. In this version, we lighten the toppings a bit with a garlic-olive oil base, gooey cheese, lemon zest and marinated artichokes, plus a fresh salad of peppery arugula and tender green herbs piled on top before serving. It’s a pizza and salad all in one bite and a superb pre-meal party appetizer!
Goya’s Ham Croquettes with Tuna Poke & Aji Crema

These eye-popping appetizers from the Goya test kitchen taste as good as they look. These delicious bites topped with marinated ahi tuna and creamy aji sauce will be the talk of your Easter table! For a time-saving shortcut, use Goya’s frozen ham, chorizo or fish croquettes.
Honey-Baked Brie with Rosemary
Think of this baked brie kind of like a one-step fondue! It’s so easy, we’re not even sure we can call it a recipe. The top rind of the brie is scored with a knife for easy dipping (and extra presentation points) and then brushed with floral honey, helping the top caramelize while the sweet honey seeps into the melty cheese. We call for brie here because it’s accessible and friendly on your wallet, but you can also try this with almost any bloomy-rind, soft-ripened cheese like Camembert or even Cambozola.
Field & Tides Pimento Cheese Fritters

These pimento cheese Fritters are a crispy, gooey, flavor-packed bite that’s perfect for your Easter celebration. We snagged the recipe from our friend Chef Travis Lenig of Field & Tides in Houston’s Heights neighborhood. A blend of cheddar, pepper jack, and cream cheese is seasoned with garlic, onion, and a kick of cayenne, all wrapped in a crunchy panko coating. Fried to golden perfection, these fritters are an irresistible appetizer that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
Ricotta and Honey Crostini

This ricotta and honey crostini from The Lazy Italian is a light and refreshing appetizer for your Easter celebration. Crispy, olive oil-toasted baguette slices are topped with creamy ricotta, a hint of citrus zest, coarse sea salt, and a sweet drizzle of honey. Simple yet elegant, these crostini are a delicious way to start your festive meal with a burst of flavor!
Avocado Fundido

We’re all in on this avocado fundido dip, compliments of Executive Chef David Bull with Second Bar + Kitchen. A crafty creation in under 10 minutes with queso asadero, house chorizo and chipotle corn chips! Yum!
Deep-Fried Deviled Eggs from Greer’s Ranch Cafe

Greer’s Ranch Cafe takes classic deviled eggs to a whole new level with these delightful deep-fried deviled eggs. Creamy, spicy filling is piped into hard-boiled whites, then coated in flour, buttermilk, and crispy panko breadcrumbs before being fried to perfection. Served with a dipping sauce (raspberry chipotle recommended!), these indulgent bites will steal the show at your Easter dinner.
Smoked Brisket Queso Dip from Black’s Barbecue

Elevate your queso game with this Smoked Brisket Queso Dip, a creamy, smoky, and flavorful dip that’s perfect for any party or BBQ! Made with a rich, cheesy base, seasoned tomatoes and chilies, and chunks of tender smoked brisket, this dip brings together the best of Texas BBQ and comfort food. Garnish it with colorful toppings like pickled red onions, fresh cilantro, or a drizzle of BBQ sauce to make it a showstopper.
