It was fascinating. The making of tequila, like wine, dates back hundreds of years. In fact, it was originally known as tequila wine mezcal. Just like fine wines, the aging of tequila is carefully controlled. And, it takes YEARS to even get to the aging process…up to ten years for the Agave plants to be ready for harvest.
There are some tequilas aged for years in oak that cost as much as fine brandies. To see more about tequila and how to taste the different kinds, head to http://goodtastewithtanji.com/restaurants/aldacos/is-this-the-tequila-oprah-likes/
